New York Fashion Week
February 10-18, 2016
New York City is the fashion capital of the U.S so it’s only right that Fashion Week commences there every year. A week full of the industry’s top designers presenting their upcoming collections in a series of runway shows? Sign me up! All the big-time editors, celebrities, socialites and style bloggers will be there. So if fashion is your scene, this is the place to be.
Tribeca Film Festival
April 13-24, 2016
Actor Robert De Niro and producer Jane Rosenthal founded the Tribeca Film Festival in 2002 in an effort to help Manhattan recover after 9/11. The Tribeca Film Festival is full of filmmakers, tech innovators and other high-profile attendees. Tom Hanks and Tina Fey will be in attendance and will be participating in a new storytelling series, Tribeca Talks.
Possibly the greatest idea ever! For one day in June, 10 museums open their doors to the public for free. Twenty-three blocks of culture, live music, street performers, and chalk artists, blocked off from traffic. Some of the museums involved are: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim, The Cooper-Hewitt and The National Design Museum.

The music festival scene in New York is utterly amazing. Any type of music style or festival is available to you, and more! They are even bringing Coachella to the east coast this year (because NY is that bomb) with the Coachella equivalent, Panorama. And of course, the annual Governor’s Ball for the trendy music lover, Electric Zoo for the bass head, and Afropunk for the indie hipster. There is a festival for everybody!

Did you know that every year, the 26-match U.S. Open takes place in Queens? Many of the greatest matches ever played happened on these New Yorkin courts. Tracy Austin vs. Chris Evert, Pete Sampras vs. Andre Agassi, and Venus Williams vs. Serena Williams. You don’t need to fly all the way to London or Australia to catch an epic tennis match, just to the greatest state on earth, New York!
