Elizabeth Banks decides that parenting is more of a priority than directing Pitch Perfect 3. According to Us Weekly, the 42-year-old decided not to helm the third installment of the comedy, but she will stay on as a producer. Elizabeth has been involved in the franchise in every conceivable way. She acted in the first and acted and directed in the second. She discussed her decision to exit as director, and according to the Hollywood Reporter she said that, “it all came down to timing. She said that they feel obligated to put on the best movie and anyone who has done sequels knows that the third one is hard to figure out. It took longer than expected to develop the story and if it pushed into fall, it would bump up against her personal responsibilities.” Banks is mother to two children and has spoken in the past about balancing work life with her personal life.
