Farmer Discovers New Superfood Which Doubles as a Beauty Line

In 2010, a second generation farmer ran over some bananas, and a new superfood was discovered. Banana flour is now set to become the new craze in healthy eating and natural beauty products.

A lucrative business was then born out of what was supposed to be just crushed remains of a bunch of bananas. The bananas are called lady finger bananas which are locally grown in Queensland, Australia and are said to have the highest resistant starch content in the world.

The farmer, Rob, and his wife Krista Watkins are from Walkamin in North Queensland and found that after the bananas had been left in the sun, they turned into a powdery substance. The flour has now spread across the globe proving to be extremely beneficial to ones’ health. It can be used to replace regular flour when making anything from pancakes to bread. Some of the major benefits of banana flour include:

  • Promotes weight loss
  • Promotes colon health and helps to prevent colon cancer
  • Helps to lowers cholesterol
  • Helps to reduce occurrence of gallstones
  • Helps and treats diabetes

The Watkins also recognized that the green skins of the bananas can be used for cosmetics which of course they took advantage of by creating a full skincare line that includes cleansers, beauty mists, and moisturizers.
