Rougue Lipstick and Lip-Gloss

Should we be wearing pink lips past 30? I believe the answer lies in how confident we are in ourselves and our ability to wear it tastefully. I believe that there is always a place for pink because even as we age, we all want to channel our inner “girl” from time to time.

When Sheisido Perfect Rouge lipstick in Tulip arrived at my desk I knew I had to find a way to wear it well. This slightly dramatic pink is gorgeous at face value. Its composition of hyaluronic acid and Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE works seamlessly together to create color that lasts and covers the lips entirely in one application. It is what it is: bright pink and proud.

I appreciated the color but thought it might be too bold so I decided to experiment with Sheisido Laquer Rouge lip-gloss. After pressing my Tulip colored lips against a paper towel to dull the color, I applied one layer of the thick, smooth gloss in Caramel. Not only did it make my lips look fuller and glossy, it also toned down the vibrancy of the pink color below.

I wore this hybrid shade throughout the office and was pleasantly surprised that I did not turn any heads in shock. Tulup lipstick and Caramel gloss combined to make the perfect pop of pink.
