Summer Nail Trends

Nail colors to consider this summer.

Similar to fashion, and hair styles, nail trends are constantly changing and play an important role in completing a woman’s look. Remember acrylic nails? I had an appointment every two weeks to get my refills and update the designs. Today nail trends are more low maintenance. Beautiful nails require little more than gorgeous high quality color.

Below I feature my five favorite nail colors for summer 2014.

  • Chanel Le Vernis in Mirabella #623 (www.bergdorfgoodman.com)- this orange color with warm yellow undertones and a cream finish is classic and trending this summer. The exclusive formula not only strengthens your nails, but also moisturizes and provides high-shine color in the process.
  • Essie Nail Polish in Haute in the Heat (www.macys.com)– Essie’s hot guava polish features the perfect shade of pink this summer because it is bright and fun without falling into the flashy “hot pink” category. I also love Essie because of their Formaldehyde free, chip free polish.
  • Julep Nail Polish in Kayla (www.julep.com)- This electric iris sheer with violet sheen nail color is the beautiful shade of purple. The fast-drying formula contains antioxidant green coffee extract, and provides 30% more oxygen to the nail, which results in stronger and more conditioned nails.
  • Butter London Nail Polish in Lady Bird (sephora.com) – I firmly believe that every season requires a new shade of red. This summer I am obsessed with Butter London’s Ladybird Nail Lacquer—a classic tomato red that adds a pop of color to any occasion. It is also packed with vitamins E, A, C and Pro B5 to protect the nails.
