Posted On May 03, 2016
Thanks to AirBnB, we have added a lot of new places to our travel wish lists. The company and its hosts provide unique lodgings in crowded cities and low-key travel spots across the world. Not only are their accommodations one-of-a-kind, but AirBnB has also become the economical way to travel. You no longer have to be locked into hotel locations or prices. For the adventurer in you, steer clear of the crowded pools, lobbies, and “tourist bubble,” and consider one of these killer stays courtesy of AirBnB.
Escape from the touristic lifestyle and soak-in the Dominican Republic culture in a peaceful bungalow that comfortably fits a family of four or a romanced couple. Rather than experiencing dinosaur attacks, gaze at the stars in the unpolluted skyline or cool off in one of the naturally beautiful waterfalls. Surrounded by nature trails, tropical produce gardens, and ocean views, the terrace offers some of the best excursions and opportunities to meet the locals.
This dreamy accommodation looks like a scene straight out of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Lush Gardens connect the terrace to all of its amenities including an outdoor fireplace, hammocks, and a hot tub. Unfortunately, this place only hosts couples (not children-friendly), so romantic getaways call for a trip to Topanga Canyon, California!
Let’s take a trip out of the jungle and into a gated property in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Still unusual, the Seashell house is a whitewashed villa that looks exactly like… well, an actual seashell. This eccentric place is perfect for an aspiring mermaid’s Caribbean escape.
Calling all dog lovers! This Cottonwood, Idaho bed and breakfast is where being in the dog house is actually a good time. Dog Bark Park Inn provides comfort and a unique style of living in a beagle-shaped building. Enjoy the spectacular views of prairie grain fields and surrounding mountains year-round. There’s an on-site gift shop and artist studio where the unit owners create canine carvings by chainsaw.
Immersed in the Tuscan landscapes of Florence, Italy, the tree house is a romantic room with a fantastic landscape view. The aesthetically pleasing home portrays the owners’ passions for arts and crafts, interior design, and antiques. Its countryside environment also offers a communal pool and tennis courts.
Take the non-traditional route and spend a few nights in one of these abodes just to say you did it!
