Ice in Miami? You know what everyone says: NEVER SAY NEVER. Havaianas flip flops brought the “cool factor” to W South Beach Hotel on this lovely Friday, with an ice pop-up. Yes, you read that correctly, ice in Miami! The original flip flop company, reigning from Brazil did a one-day event in South Beach, lasting only as long as the ice did. The first 100 people were given a free pair of Havaianas. The event was perfectly chilly with snow cones and an ice “box” if you will that featured various styles of the flip flops frozen inside.
NEW YOU caught up with Director of Marketing, Inhwa Lee for an exclusive interview about the original flip-flop and where the brand is headed. Havaianas is Portuguese for “Hawaiians” and it’s the flip flop you need to have this summer. Why, do you ask? “Havaianas are the original rubber flip-flops, made in Brazil, still made in Brazil… we have a patent around how we design our flip-flops and they are made with 100% high-quality rubber.” The flip-flops are also sold in many styles, patterns, and colors. The company has Mommy+Me for mothers and daughters, Disney, and Marvel patterns as well as the classic colors. They even feature rain boots for kids, totes and bridal sandals.
What’s next for the Brazilian brand? “We just launched our new eyewear, sunglasses… We have you covered head to toe, for the beach this season.” Inhwa was sporting some of the classy black shades, and they looked absolutely fabulous. Thank you, Havaianas for keeping it cool in Miami and keeping everyone beach ready!
