Our Daily Stretch

NEW YOU Anti-Aging Tip: Stretch daily to maintain optimal range of motion.

Stretching is not only beneficial to athletes who wish to prevent injury, it is also important to anyone with stiff muscles that are trapped by the constraints of their body. According to the Journal of Applied physiology, stretching makes your muscles stronger, which is important because muscles work together to move bones along joints. So even if you don’t play flag football, or run for miles each day, stretching is very beneficial. It increases your overall range of motion, especially as we age, when flexibility declines.

Stretch Tips:

· Focus on your thighs, neck, hip shoulders and lower back and make sure that you stretch both sides.
· Don’t bounce, as this can cause the muscles to tear. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds and repeat that three to four times.
· Be consistent, because if you fall off the wagon, you will lose the benefits.
