Luckiest States in America

This is the biggest jackpot in U.S. history just hitting $800 million today. (I just peed a little). The previous jackpot record was held by a 2012 MegaMillions game worth $656 million.

Your first thoughts are probably figuring out HOW to win this lottery. How many tickets should I buy, which numbers to choose, do I use my kid’s birthdays, all my addresses I have every had added up or all the jersey numbers of the hot Patriots football players?

But maybe, it’s not how you win but WHERE that could score you the golden ticket. If history has anything to say about it, buying a ticket in Pennsylvania or Indiana will up your chances of snagging the biggest Powerball ever.

Let’s get real though. You are far more likely to be struck by lightning once in your lifetime — the odds are one in 6,250, according to the National Weather Service — than win the Powerball jackpot. Those odds are one in 175 million.
