Ultra Music Festival Kicks Off In Miami

Thousands of electronic dance music (EDM) fans are taking over Miami’s Bayfront Park starting this afternoon until Sunday.

The massive 3-day festival is in its 18th year, with every affair seeming to be an attempt to outdo the previous one producing better artists, bigger stages, brighter lights, and more brightly dressed festival-goers. Downtown Miami is expecting 165,000 to 170,000 fist-pumping fans to attend the well-known festival, which closes Miami’s renowned Music Week.

This event brings some of the biggest names in the DJ world. For Friday’s kickoff, 19-year-old prodigy, Martin Garrix is scheduled to headline. DJ Carl Cox is set to tear down the stage with illuminating presentations by SJ Lighting. Arcadia is expected to unveil a highly anticipated, 360 degree spider stage with leg extensions that reach out across the crowd during the festival’s nightly shows.

The gig will also feature veteran acts Afrojack, Avicii, Carl Cox, and Deadmau5. Tiesto, David Guetta, Cedric Gervais, Hardwell, and Jackmaster will also be spinning their way into the lives of EDM’s super fans.

If you can’t make it to the sunshine state but want to be a part of the insanity, Ultra Live will be live streaming the 18th edition of Ultra Music Festival at ultramusicfestival.com starting every day at 3PM EST.
