Former Rolling Stones Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer

Former Rolling Stones bassist, Bill Wyman, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. A spokesman for the 79-year-old musician revealed that he will be undergoing treatment for the condition and is hopeful of making a full recovery.

After the news was announced, fans responded by tweeting best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery. We are all delighted to know the disease was caught in the early stages, crossing our fingers over here!

Wyman rose to fame after joining the legendary Rolling Stones. At 25 years of age, he was the oldest member of the group. After 31 years with the band, Wyman left to pursue other projects including forming his own band, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, designing his own metal detectors (probably had too many concert scares), and opening a bistro in London, well done mate!

And of course in true rock and roll fashion, Bill’s taste for beautiful women was undeniable – he had his share of models. But, Wyman has been married to his Californian model (did you expect anything else), Suzanne Accosta, since 1992 and they have three daughters- Katherine, Jessica, and Matilda.

He has been married twice before. His relationship with model Mandy Smith was infamous because he began dating her when she was only 13! The two married when she turned 18, but the marriage only lasted one week. Most likely due to the fact that Mandy’s mom, Patsy, joined them on their honeymoon. Bill was married to Diane Cory for ten years, but the pair split in 1969 right before Bill joined the Stones. The pair had a son together, Stephen, who later got engaged to Mandy’s mom, Patsy. Oh, the life of the rich and famous.

Bill played with the Stones at the band’s 50th anniversary shows at the O2 Arena in 2012. When asked if he would be interested in rejoining the group on a permanent basis, Bill responded that he has ‘better things to do’. These days that includes beating cancer. We are pulling for you Bill and in the words of your doting fans ‘beat that wretched disease’!
