Actress, Lyndon Smith was on hand to lend her support, at this year’s UNICEF Black & White Masquerade Ball in Los Angeles. The annual event, held each year with proceeds benefiting several of UNICEF’s primary objectives including, global child protection programs and the End Trafficking project.

With the increasing number of young girls being sold into sex slavery and little boys being trained to become child soldiers, especially in ISIS or ISIL, UNICEF’s mission dating back to 1946 to help children following WWII is apparent now more than ever. Statistically speaking, approximately 2,500 women and children in counting have been captured and taken into the sex market with a price tag of roughly 10 dollars.

In the past, celebrity ambassadors have included Sarah Jessica Parker, Lucy Liu, Selena Gomez and many more, who utilized their fame in order to build awareness surrounding the needs of children worldwide.

Another Hollywood celebrity following suit, is Dancing With The Stars, Sharna Burgess, who has recently partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout the country. By fusing her philanthropy efforts and national stardom, the ballroom dancer has designed a custom t-shirt, with proceeds being donated to help, “make miracles happen.”

“I am thrilled to help contribute to this wonderful organization’s cause to help deserving children get the care they need. I encourage fans and supporters to ‘put your money where the miracles are’ for these special children,” Burgess said.

Wouldn’t you agree, it’s always great to see the stars align for celebrities to help benefit children in need?
