Charlize Theron’s Pretty Problem With Hollywood
Posted On Apr 06, 2016
It has long been a topic of discussion about living up to Hollywood’s unrealistic beauty standards and body ideals. In a recent interview, Charlize Theron, a blonde bombshell and Hollywood beauty, has created quite a stir with her latest remarks. According to the 40-year-old, being pretty in Hollywood does not necessarily afford you the opportunity to have jobs falling in your lap as many would assume, instead she insists it is the complete opposite.
Ironically being a tall, beautiful, multi-talented actress comes with several challenges. During her conversation with British GQ, the Oscar winner stated, “How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f*$*ing, gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through, I’ve been in the room and pretty people get turned away first.”
Hmmm…let’s dissect this notion a bit more, shall we? Regular women, not members of the Hollywood elite, are paying upwards of hundreds and thousands of dollars to achieve the million-dollar look. Let’s not forget many castings, if not all, seemingly always include the word, “beautiful” when describing the perfect, ideal woman to portray an on-screen character. As you can imagine, her controversial remarks have stirred the pot and caused major eye rolls from many critics. If you don’t believe us, take a look at a few Twitter reactions and tweet us your thoughts as well! Be sure to check out the video for more on Charlize Theron’s interview with British GQ.
Um…………. I’m going to WHOLEHEARTEDLY disagree, based on years of experience. https://t.co/tJAPSmhaCT

“It’s hard out there for gorgeous, pretty actresses like me.” Charlize Theron – And out the door went Charlize’s last remaining fan. — Enty Lawyer (@entylawyer) April 5, 2016
I respect how little Charlize Theron cares about what people think so she says stuff like “I’m discriminated against for being gorgeous.”
