Clinique’s the Next Smart Idea
Posted On Mar 14, 2016
Last spring, the iconic beauty powerhouse, Clinique, launched a global campaign, in partnership with TED, to find the next smart idea. Clinique’s initiative allowed for women from all locations and all walks of life to voice their creative ideas. The campaign garnered thousands of entries worldwide, but there could only be one winner…drum roll please, Alison Bishop! Bishop’s idea, “Boot Camp for New Moms” was the perfect match for Clinique. The idea showcases the originality and innovation embodied by Clinique’s mission of empowering women.
Bishop realized a lot of information is not available on what expectant mothers should do once they give birth. The answer? An accessible forum for moms-to-be to interact with more experienced mothers who share their insights about child rearing. The group is unique because it delves past just improving parenting skills. It builds a community that focuses on strengthening the family unit by discussing topics such as emotions of fear, isolation, pressure, stress, and how to maintain a healthy marriage. Bishop received $20,000 to help fund the program.
“I always love to see people who attended the Boot Camps as new parents come back once their children are a little older to share their experiences,” says Bishop. “That feels like success to me.” We couldn’t agree more. Bishop will be honored at a dinner hosted by Clinique during the TEDWomen conference in October 2016.
We are loving Clinique’s initiative to creating fun and unique campaigns to inspire confidence in women worldwide. Let’s learn together and stand together. #GirlPower
