Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be ripped, but over the weekend the actor proved he has a huge, soft heart.
The Baywatch star took Saturday off and passed by Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga., where he spent the day with children who are ill.
The A-lister bonded in particular with a teen named Christopher, who Johnson says had a “smile [that] lit up the room!”
“There was a mom who was pleading with our production staff that I go upstairs to her son’s room to give him a much needed big surprise,” Johnson wrote on his Instagram. He also posted a photo of him and Christopher together.
“We talked for a while about his family, his school, and how hard he’s working to eventually graduate… we talked about how COOL all his scars are from his multiple surgeries,” Johnson continued.
Johnson, 43, was filming outside of the hospital and put production on hold to spend quality time with Christopher as well as other children and their families.
“Glad this mom brought a smile to Christopher’s face,” Johnson posted on Instagram. “Glad I got a chance to shake the hand of this very strong and inspiring young man.”
Johnson, who is also a father to 14-year-old daughter Simone and 3-month-old daughter Jasmine, has been making headlines the last few weeks as filming for Baywatch kicked-off in Miami Beach on Feb. 23.
