Elizabeth Banks Becomes Rita Repulsa

We’ve always seen the actress portray very fun, yet nice, characters for movies. This time, Elizabeth Banks has crossed over to the dark side to become Rita Repulsa, for the upcoming Power Rangers movie.
From a very young age, one of my favorite shows was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I mean who didn’t fight with their friends over who was going to be the pink power ranger? Or the red one for the guys?
The movie was announced late last year and it is now confirmed that Banks, 42, will portray the mighty villain. The actress is super excited about this new role and she’s expressing her excitement by revealing the first glimpse of her as Rita Repulsa across her social media channels. Take a look below to see her incredible transformation!

New You sat down with Elizabeth in an exclusive interview where she spilled the secret on how she masters comedy characters.
“Comedy often comes at the expense of others, and to do that smartly, you don’t want to make fun of vulnerable people. You want to make fun of people who are in power,” Banks said.
BUT, will she live up to the expectations of the Power Ranger fans and portray the terrifying Rita Repulsa?
We think Elizabeth has it covered! She is known for playing versatile and very ‘out-there’ characters; including Effie Trinket, in the Hunger Games series.
We all know how popular these characters became and how good she was at being bad!
The Power Rangers movie is set to come to the big screen early 2017, and we can’t wait to watch it!
