Exclusive: Inside Operation Smile’s Smile Gala

Last night in New York City, Operation Smile hosted its 14th Annual Smile Gala. This star-studded event celebrates more than 240,000 free surgical procedures that Operation Smile has provided to children with facial deformities worldwide. The Smile Gala recognizes the incredible work of thousands of medical professionals from over 80 countries who volunteer their time to improve the lives of children all over the world.
Last night, actress, mother, and entrepreneur Kate Hudson received the Universal Smile Award for her work with the charity. Master of ceremonies, Brooke Burke-Charvet presented Kate with the award.
Also in attendance was Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander, Chicago Med’s Oliver Platt, and musical duo A Great Big World, who performed their hit song, “Say Something.”
