Over the weekend, hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs hosted the 2nd Annual REVOLT Music Conference at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel. The four-day event included a unique opportunity for entertainment up and comers to mix and mingle with industry vets, participate in live Q&A panel discussions, network with like-minded peers as well as enjoy musical performances by Robin Thicke, Jidenna, Travi$ Scott, Lil Wayne, French Montana and Diddy himself.

And if that wasn’t enough, in true Bad Boy fashion Combs hosted the ultimate nightlife experience for attendees, further living up to the mantra, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.”

The theme for this year’s conference was, “The Merging of Music, Technology and Innovation,” highlighting a variety of topics ranging from politics to artist development. If you missed out on this year’s RMC Conference, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! New You was on the scene with exclusive access and we’re ready to share with you five things we learned from the ultimate media mogul, Mr. Sean Combs.

So, what’s your game plan?- Before you dive in head first, construct a blueprint for your life. Why allow someone else to write the story when you have the power to build success your way, on your terms.

Pursuit of happiness- Let’s face it, this industry isn’t for the faint of heart but ultimately you have the power to turn your dreams into reality. Stay relentless in pursuing your goals because in this day and age, opportunity surrounds us especially with the power of social media.

Increase your social circle- In the words of Diddy, it’s important to surround yourself with “like-minded people who want to be somebody.” Remember, your net worth is only as great as your network.

Fear of failure- Take accountability for your actions and utilize all of your resources because sustaining longevity in this business doesn’t come without a few hiccups and obstacles along the way.

Your time is valuable- With success comes high demands and the desire to be better than you were yesterday. With that said, cherish your loved ones, appreciate the challenges, live in the moment, enjoy the ride and embrace both the good and bad times. Combs warns us, you can definitely make more money but you can’t make more time.

Now that you have the gems to help you get to the next level, it’s time to hustle your way to the top and make it happen!
