Happy Birthday Emma Watson!
Posted On Apr 15, 2016
Today marks the 26th birthday of Emma Watson. The actress who became known for her role in the Harry Potter series is definitely wise beyond her years.
At such a young age, she has transformed from solely being an actress to an activist and feminist who continually fights for gender equality. Emma has debated the representation of women with many feminist leaders like Bell Hooks and Gloria Steinem. She also created a campaign geared towards international equality.
Along with Emma’s heart for women, she certainly measures up to the phrase “beauty and brains as well.” In 2014, Emma graduated from Brown University with a degree in English Literature and spoke about why she chose to go to Brown to Rookie Magazine in 2013:
“I really like the fact that it has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements,” she said. “Really, I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on Potter when I was 9 or 10, and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum.”
Additionally, not only is Emma book smart, but she’s also a professional at style. The young star has great taste in fashion and always turns heads wherever she goes. I have noticed a black and white theme in many of her looks which always seem to grab my attention. I’m not sure how she does it, but she has a way of making black and white look fabulous no matter what!
In honor of her special day, I’ve rounded up a few of my personal favorite black and white looks from Emma.
