Award winning actor Jamie Foxx has a lot to celebrate these days. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association recently named his 21-year old daughter, Corinne Foxx as Miss Golden Globe 2016.
Basking in her excitement, the young model-actress expressed to PEOPLE magazine, “I’ve known for about 3 weeks. Maybe like a month and I was so excited. I had all of this energy and I’m not lying, for an hour straight, just jumped around my house and was bouncing off the walls, and was Googling all of this stuff about Miss Golden Globes so I was really excited.”
The prestige title is generally given to the sons or daughters of Hollywood heavy hitters. Their primary responsibility includes, guiding guests on and off stage as well as assisting the official host of the evening in distributing awards during the ceremony.
Past recipients include Rumer Willis (Demi Moore/Bruce Willis), Sam Michael Fox (Tracy Pollan/Michael J. Fox), Dakota Johnson (Melanie Griffith/Don Johnson) and Mavis Spencer (Alfre Woodard/Roderick Spencer).
In an official statement released by the USC student, she said, “I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor. I’m honored … to now share the same stage where he’s been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments.”
Right about now, we’re pretty sure Mr. Foxx is one proud papa! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 10, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET airing on NBC. We’ll be tuned in!
