Jenny McCarthy Calls Out Charlie Sheen

McCarthy played Sheen’s love interest on Two and a Half Men and said, according to reports, that he should have disclosed the condition because he had physical contact with actresses on the set of the CBS sitcom.
‘I feel like, in playing a love interest, you would think there would be some type of, I don’t want to say criminal issue, but I don’t even know how to feel about that,’ she said on her show.
The 43-year-old, who’s married to Donnie Wahlberg, acknowledged you can’t catch HIV from kissing, but said she was asked to sign an on-set release about her physical health including cold sores.
She said: ‘I was like, “Wait a second. If I have to be upfront about a herpe, how could you not be upfront about HIV?”.
This is an excellent point and certainly valid. The actress and TV personality appeared in eight episodes of Two And A Half Men with Sheen, last appearing in 2011.
‘I wouldn’t sleep with anyone until I got the right paperwork, so even playing his love interest on the show back in the day, I go like, “Ick, ugh, that’s not fair and scary.”‘
Despite her frustration, McCarthy said she has ‘sympathy’ for Sheen because he’s sick, but added: ‘Man, he’s going to have to take some major accountability with many people in his life.’
McCarthy shared her views on character attacking in a 2014 interview with New You, saying, “People are either with you or against you, and if you take a position and people don’t agree with it, they can hate you for life. When really, it’s just a position you hold, that has nothing to do with your personal life.”
It’s a sticky situation for those close to Sheen who don’t know how to feel about him. Are they sad for the one who is sick or are they mad at the one who lied about being sick? Hmm.
