Meet The Man Behind the Dress
Posted On Jan 08, 2016
Mark Zunino, red carpet couture designer, fulfilled a lifelong dream last night. He opened up shop in Beverly Hills, California. A 5,500-squre-foot, full-service atelier for red carpet gowns, eveningwear, and bridal shop, to be exact.
Mark Zunino started out as an advertising major where he interviewed TV and film designer, Nolan Miller, which led to an apprenticeship and ultimately a distinguished career in fashion design. He has dressed all of our favorite celebrities: Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Courtney Cox, to name a few.
Now that award season is upon us you will be seeing many of his designs flaunted on the red carpet. He dressed a few starlets at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards and will be doing the same at the 2016 Golden Globes. Be sure to sure to keep your eye on Laverne Cox and Lilly Tomlin as they will be wearing his designs on this Sundays Golden Globes red carpet.
Check out some of his stunning designs below:
We caught up with him at his stores grand opening last night where he gives us some hints as to what we will see at this years Golden Globes. “Sleek, sexy silhouettes. For me it’s been about form fitting. No matter what your body is, it’s accentuating the body shape. That’s really important and sexy when the woman has the confidence to do that. “
He also dishes on the colors we will be seeing this season, “Eggplant, forest green, sapphire blue, primarily saturated colored jewel tones.” Count me on in this trend! The more elegant the better. Watch the full interview below.
Other celebs showed up to the big event to support Mr. Zunino in his big accomplishment.
Gabrielle Dennis, who currently stars in the Fox medical drama “Rosewood”, had a thing or two to say about Mark Zunino’s famous fashion. “His dresses fit every-BODY!” she said with excitement. “I love seeing his beautiful gowns on Sofia Vergara and my girl Niecy Nash and all those beautiful people who look great in a Mark dress.”
She blushed at her real agenda which was to keep her eye out on a wedding gown for her 2016 New Year’s nuptials.
As for Super Model Beverly Johnson, she is up to squeezing in a few peaks for an award season gown. Her women empowerment stance on the Bill Cosby issue is inspiring and unmatched.
We also spoke with actress and tv host, Adrienne Janic who is most looking forward to seeing Jennifer Lawrence rock the red carpet at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards. Aren’t we all.
Now that Mark Zunino is your favorite designer, you can keep up with him on his Instagram.
