Michael B. Jordan Makes Fun of Kobe Bryant in Apple Ad
Posted On Apr 11, 2016
The scene is set with Jordan sitting next to Bryant in his trailer, dressed in a Lower Merion High School jersey worn by Kobe nearly 20 years ago. In the minute-long clip, the two are in discussion of creating a possible biopic centered on the all-star athlete while the Creed star seemingly pokes fun of the shooting guard.
There is no doubt, Kobe’s career trajectory has allowed him to singlehandedly dominate the court as a one of the legendary greats to go down in sports history. To draw inspiration for the supposed biopic, the Los Angeles Laker suggests that the actor should highlight him in his prime by showing several pieces of footage of him dating back to his record-breaking years in the NBA. As you will recall, Bryant recently announced his retirement from the league and because of this Michael B. Jordan has other plans for the role. He begins to play clips from the Blockbuster hit, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was quite hysterical, to say the least.
This isn’t the first time Apple has utilized stellar star power to create buzz around their products. Previously Taylor Swift, Jaime Foxx, Kerry Washington, Mary J. Blige, Taraji P. Henson, and even the Cookie Monster have appeared in Apple promotions. For a quick laugh to help you get through the day check out the video below.
