Roc Nation’s Yandel Brings Latin Heat to Miami’s Rockwell Lounge

Reggaeton superstar Yandel brought Fuego to Magic City’s Rockwell club, crooning new tunes along with some fan-fave oldies.

Yandel, who is the newest artist to join Roc Nation’s Latin roster (Shakira was the first), celebrated with loyal fans at the swanky South Beach Rockwell lounge Wednesday night, in light of the upcoming Billboard Latin Music Awards taking place at the University of Miami on Thursday evening.

The Puerto Rican hunk donned a whitehooded sweater, faded gray jeans, white and black studded sneakers, and a black fitted cap.

“I feel at home,” he said excitedly as the crowd cheered feverishly. “This feels like a big cumpleaños (birthday). Where the single ladies at?” The singer performed new hits such as “Encantadora” and old-time club bangers such as “Rakata,” a hit tune from his time with former singing partner Wisin. Festivities began at 11 p.m., as stylish waitresses walked around the intimate venue handing out a variety of Hennessy-infused cocktails, including the Hennessy mojito and a Hennessy ginger/apple flavored beverage. (Hennessy V.S drinks Movimiento, Miami Mule and Mango Mojito.)

Beef empanadas, Cuban spring rolls, and mini Key lime pies were also handed out to guests throughout the Latin-themed event.

Universal Music’s El Dusty got the crowd bumping and grinding with a high-energy DJ set for the opening act before Yandel took the stage at exactly 12:30 p.m.

New You caught up with Yandel, as he rushed into his black SUV minutes after his adrenaline-filled performance but the artist kept mum and had no comment.
