The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations

The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced and CBS dominated the line up with a mighty 77 nominations. The Young and the Restless paved the way with 27 noms, followed by General Hospital with 24, and Bold and the Beautiful with 23 noms.

In the talk show category, everyone’s favorite comedian, Ellen DeGeneres danced out on top with 10 nominations. The Talk and The View followed with 6 and 3 noms respectively.

Unfortunately, the awards ceremony will not be televised this year due to cost. “After months of negotiations to find show sponsorship, the NATAS Executive Board has decided that the current climate for awards shows prohibits the possibility of a telecast this year. With that said, we will be putting on a world-class awards celebration honoring the best and brightest of Daytime television and look forward to an exciting show. All efforts regarding returning the annual gala to television in 2017 are underway,” said Bob Mauro, President of NATAS.

The event will be streamed live on April 29th, for all those who want to see their beloved day time TV stars win.
