To Love or Not to Love, According to the Bachelor
Posted On Mar 15, 2016
Last night we all watched the most eligible bachelor in the continental United States (totally crushing hard), Ben Higgins, propose to Lauren. I, along with the rest of America, was heartbroken for JoJo. To witness JoJo’s sincere and profound profession of love for Ben minutes before he tore her heart to pieces was too intense for my usually uneventful Monday evenings.
I’m not trying to take anything away from Lauren- she’s a sweet girl, cute, loves Ben, and in the words of Ben’s parents is,“polished and nice”. Two words that can also be used to describe a phenomenal gel manicure, #TeamJoJo. Be as it may, a congratulations is in order for the future Mr. and Mrs. Ben Higgins.
The entire episode we saw Ben torn between the two women. He legit had no idea who he was going to propose to. So, it got me thinking whether it’s possible to love two people at once. In my opinion, yes, it is. However, I don’t think it’s possible to love both people equally- you will always love someone more.
Loving two people is a walk in the park in comparison to being able to discern which one you’re actually in love with. The most difficult thing is to free the mind from all fears and emotions that come with choosing between the two people. Once you achieve a peaceful state of mind and can sincerely answer who you just can’t picture your life without, that’s when you know.
And that’s when Ben knew. He knew that as hard as it was to let JoJo go, it was even more unbearable to live life without Lauren. So congrats Lauren, you got the last rose. BUT, Jojo is the next Bachelorette and we are so excited for her! Your turn to hand out all the roses #GotEm!
