Victoria Beckham, Uma Thurman, and Other Celebrities Attend amFAR Hong Kong

On Saturday, March 19th, 2016, many A-list celebrities traveled across the world to attend the second annual amFAR charity gala in Hong Kong. The black-tie event raises awareness for HIV/AIDS and has many other galas in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Milano, and Paris.

This year’s star-studded event in Hong Kong raised over $4 million for AIDS research. Fashion designer Victoria Beckham was honored for her commitment to the fight against AIDS. Other stars in attendance were Uma Thurman, Adrien Brody, Michelle Rodriguez, Kenneth Cole, and Michelle Yeoh.

Guests were treated to cocktails, dinner, entertainment, a live auction, and an after-party. Highlights from the auction included eight unique Andy Warhol photographs that sold for $190,000 and two VIP invitations to the first ever gala dinner hosted by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco in Monte Carlo that sold for $450,000.

The evening also featured three performances by legendary Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang, Grammy-nominated Elle King, and Grammy-nominated soul artist Aloe Blacc.

Honorary Chair Uma Thurman spoke about finding a way to hopefully cure HIV/AIDS.

Actor Adrien Brody donated one of his paintings for the silent auction that sold for $100,000.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez can’t believe how much Kenneth Cole has done for this organization.

Actress Michelle Yeoh has supported amFAR for many years now.

Kenneth Cole can’t believe the support and turnout for the event in Asia.

Karolína Kurková attended the gala in New York two months ago and feels like amFAR has “shut down Hong Kong.”

Aloe Blacc performed his hit “Wake Me Up.”

Kenneth Cole gave a speech at the gala.
