When Pop-Rock and Country Collide

One of the most anticipated moments of the Academy of Country Music Awards happened last night, and all I can say is, it was worth the wait.
We first heard in March that Dolly Parton and Katy Perry would be performing together for the first time at the 51st Awards show being held in Las Vegas. Perry took to Twitter to express how excited she was:
?? MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED?? I shall remember though that I am but one sequin on this living legend’s costume! https://t.co/4XY42M3ked

The two superstars took to the stage and performed a medley of Dolly’s top hits including “Nine to Five,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “Jolene.” Katy and Dolly’s funky, colorful, and fun style wasn’t the only fun guests had all night as the crowd sang and danced along with the duo that seemed to be a match made in heaven. Katy’s husky voice was the perfect contrast to Dolly’s well-known high-pitched voice.
And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, Katy was also given the responsibility to present Dolly with the Tex Ritter Award for the Coat of Many Colors film last year. Parton gratefully accepted her award saying “this means the world to me, and so do you.”
Watch the mind-blowing performance here and tell us your thoughts!
