Why Kylie Is A Bit In Over Her Head
Posted On Apr 12, 2016
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly obsessed with Kylie Jenner. I stare at her Instagram pictures in awe, I religiously watch her snaps to keep up with her too-good-to-be-true life with her BFFs and Tyga, and I find myself reading every article with just a hint of her name in the headline.
But something happened yesterday, and I’m not sure how to feel about it. We all know that Kylie is possibly the most influential 18-year-old at the moment. Thousands of young girls are constantly hoping that just an ounce of Kylie juice will spill onto their life so they’ll somehow suddenly become privy to a 2.7 million dollar mansion, four luxury cars, over 50 million Instagram followers, and a full glam squad to instantly transform them each day.
It’s true, girls everywhere want to be like Kylie, but in the teen celeb’s latest magazine cover with Marie Claire for the fresh faces edition, Kylie gave her take on her influence in the beauty community.
“I started wigs, and now everyone is wearing wigs. Kim [Kardashian] just used my wig guy last night . . . I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow.”
Wait, hold up..
This is what brings us here to this moment. The moment where I’m partially confused and a bit thrown off. I’m somewhere in between laughing it off and blocking her on social media. Extreme? Maybe, but so was her comment.
She also went on to say how great of an influence she is at large:
“I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow.”
I would love to believe that Kylie didn’t actually say this, because if she did, it would completely eliminate the thousands of women who have been wearing wigs for decades. It seems as though Marie Claire may have twisted Kylie’s words and this is how we know:
When publications switch up your words for hype.. Damn.

Well, I for one hope that Kylie clears all this up sooner than later because let’s face it, the girl is a role model for many. Influencing young girls to dye their hair blue or purchase overpriced lip kits? Yeah, let’s give it to her, but wigs? No Kylie–Just No.
Don’t worry Kylie, keep your head up. After all, we wouldn’t want your wig falling off now would we?
