Stars Honor Writers at WGA Awards 2016

Award season isn’t just about the glitz and glam of A-List movie stars. The Writers Guild Awards 2016 honors the hard work and imagination of the many writers whose effortless talents in storytelling makes the big screen (and small screen) come to life. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced the winners of the 2016 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, and more. They were held at concurrent ceremonies: The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles (WGAWest) and the Edison Ballroom in New York City (WGAEast).

The world’s best writers and supporting celebs lined the red carpet over the weekend to celebrate a great night in film and television.

Friends Stars Re-Unite at WGA Awards 2016

E!Online highlighted a cute moment at the WGA Awards where Friends stars Courtney Cox, 51, and Matt LeBlanc, 48, reunited to present an award to long time ‘friend’ and writer. They handed off the Writers Guild of America’s Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Writing Achievement to Friends co-creators Marta Kauffman, who co-created Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, and David Crane, a co-creator of Showtime’s Episodes, which stars the actor.

New You also had a chance to share the spotlight with a few notable actors and producers.

Funny man from the “Anchorman” series, David Koechner presented an award to his long time buddy from SNL. After singing a fun little tune about New You, he gave us the scoop on what he has been up to with Gerard Butler.
