You’ll be Begging to stay Home on the Weekend with these Ideas

It’s either I’m seriously getting old, or I’ve just always had an inner grandma inside me, but my idea of the perfect Friday night includes a bottle of wine, all my favorite cheat day foods, and a round-up of my top five chick flicks.

There’s something about the “night life” that just doesn’t appeal to me the way it used to back in high school. Everything from finding the perfect outfit to driving 40 minutes to pay for parking just makes me want to jump back in bed.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. A night on the town is as good for the soul as laughter, but the constant weekend shenanigans are where I draw the line. For all my fellow homebodies out there, I’ve rounded up some great alternatives for wild nights out that don’t include eardrum pounding music or alcohol spilling nights. Plus, with these options, you’ll actually remember all the fun you had the following morning.

  • Girls Night In

There’s so much more you can do with your girls that eliminate the club scene altogether. Try having a girls night in with good food, better drinks, and the best company. Invite all your BFFs over and indulge in junk food, romantic comedies, and gossip, of course! You’ll be surprised at how much fun you can have just chilling in your PJ’s with your favorite gals.

  • In House Spa

Forget the wait at your nail salon. Transform your living room into a spa and try doing your own nails for a change. Check out your local beauty supply store, pick up a few items and you’ll be on your way to being a pro in no time! It’s an amazing feeling to be able to kick back in the comfort of your own home after a long and stressful week and just pamper yourself.

  • Date Night In

I’m that annoying wife who nags at her husband until he agrees to take her out, but most times I actually enjoy walking three steps out of my bedroom and landing right in the middle of my date spot for the night. Rather than waiting in long lines at your favorite restaurants, practice your cooking skills at home and create mouth-watering meals right in your kitchen. It’s a great twist on the typical romantic date minus the fancy outfit and long drive.

  • Host a House Party

Whether it’s karaoke, dancing, games, or all three, hosting a house party can be loads of fun. A bunch of friends + food and drinks + creative game ideas + music = the perfect recipe for a great night! It’s always great to get everyone involved by asking each person to bring something to contribute to the fun or a few extra bucks for food.

  • Get Creative

Weekends give you the perfect opportunity to pull out all the Pinterest boards that you’ve created and get to work. For all the DIYs you’ve been dying to try, gather some supplies and even some friends for a few extra helping hands and create away! You can start with something as simple as handmade bracelets, and move into something more complex like re-decorating your bedroom.

Have any ideas you’d like to share? We’d love to hear them!
