Beauty Tip: Buff Your Body

When it comes to exfoliation, certain parts of the body are often overlooked—but these three areas need buffing, too. The scalp is constantly shedding dead skin. When you add chemicals from hair styling products into the mix, it’s necessary to exfoliate to remove the debris, unplug clogged follicles and get rid of excess sebum (oil). Your chest is home to hundreds of pores, which produce as much oil as the face. If the area isn’t exfoliated about once a week, residue can buildup and cause the skin to look dull. Your back is often hard to reach, but it’s also important to exfoliate on a regular basis to keep acne at bay. Just like the chest, the back can get clogged with oil and dead skin, leading to pimples. Remember not to overexfoliate, however, since it takes a few days for dead skin cells to accumulate again and you might be removing healthy skin!

Beauty Tip: Exfoliate your scalp, chest and back once a week to keep bacteria—and acne—away.
