Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream
I have realized that as my skin tone and texture changes over the years, the products that I use must change alongside them—from skincare to cosmetics. I am much more discriminative in choosing what I apply to my face and seek only high quality beauty products to ensure that I maintain a natural look. When my go-to foundation started to appear cakey I decided to swap it out with the Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream.
For those unclear about its definition, “CC cream” is a marketing term for a “color correcting” anti-aging product formula. It is essentially a brightening primer and tinted moisturizer with SPF. It promises to deliver desired coverage, moisture (vital for healthy skin), and protection from the sun (one of the leading causes of visible signs of aging).
Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream works great for blurring imperfections and reducing the appearance of redness. Unlike BB (beauty balm) creams, which are often heavier and may contain oil, this CC cream is extremely light on the skin. I used the medium/tan color, which blended well with my olive complexion.
This is a versatile anti-aging product because it not only covers and moisturizes, it also contains vitamins C and E, which fight free radicals and support natural collagen production.
PROS: Contains SPF 30, and is free of parabens, phthalates, and fragrance.
CONS: Only three shades to choose from (Light/Medium, Medium/Tan , and Deep). Some may have difficulty finding their perfect shade.
