As the host of iHeartRadio’s Much Music Video Awards, Gigi was already the center of attention. However, the striking scarlet jumpsuit and matching lipstick she wore on the red carpet made her all the more powerful.

The cherry-red pantsuit by Mugler included a sleek jacket and slit trousers with metal studs. Gigi manifestly showed off the power of freedom in fashion as she moved and kneeled effortlessly to snap photos with lucky fans.

The supermodel tied her hair back in a loose mermaid braid, kept her makeup simple yet stunning, and let her ensemble of the eye-catching suit and dazzling diamonds do all the talking.

Though simple, her makeup is what brought the get-up together. As a Maybelline New York spokesmodel, her red carpet look was done by artist Patrick Ta.

“I was excited Gigi and I got to do this awards show together this year as she was the lead host,” Ta said in an exclusive release.

“Gigi loves a fresh and natural look, but still glam at the same time. The inspiration for her look this year came from Gigi herself, which I was able to execute and make it my own. She wanted a bronze and beautiful eye with a bold aspect to it, which was the red lip.”

FACE, CONTOUR, CHEEKS:

First, Ta applied a moisturizing oil to give Gigi’s complexion a luminous and smooth base.

Following the oil, to ensure her skin appeared glowy and flawless, Ta applied Maybelline New York Master Prime Blur + Illuminate.

Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation was used to create a clean and bright complexion without making her face look too heavily caked.

Ta used a darker shade in the same foundation to lightly contour the hollows of her cheeks. Then he added Maybelline New York Fit Me! Bronzer to really accentuate the cheekbones.

Ta applied Maybelline New York Better Skin Concealer in two shades lighter than Gigi’s foundation to highlight under the eyes.

For extra glow, he added Maybelline New York Highlighting Stick (releasing in July 2016) to the high points of the cheekbones.

To assure the face would be dewy in all the right places, Ta lightly powered the t-zone with Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Fix Setting Power.

Finally, he applied a bronze blush to the apples of the cheeks and spritzed the face with Maybelline New York Master Fix Setting Spray to give her skin a natural and luminous finish.

EYES:

Ta used Maybelline New York The Nudes Palette to create Gigi’s bright and clean eye look. He applied a light brown color in the crease and a skin tone color on the lid and then added in a gold shade to finish off the look.

He curled her lashes and only coated twice with Maybelline New York Spider Effect Mascara.

BROWS: Ta applied Maybelline New York Brow Precise Micro in Blonde (launching in July 2016) to create a thicker, more defined brow.

LIPS: To complete the look, Ta applied a flesh colored lipstick to compliment the color on her cheeks. He used the shades Orange Danger and Smoking Red from Maybelline New York The Loaded Bolds Collection (online now and nationwide in July 2016) to create the perfect hue.
