Hollywood’s Beauty Guru Mila Thomas’ Tips to Look and Feel Your Best

You constantly see them gracing the red carpets, debuting television shows, trending on social media, or dancing away in the hottest music videos. But, what do celebrities such as reality star NeNe Leaks (Bravo Fashion Police), actress Diane Guerrero (Orange Is The New Black), and singers Natalie Larose and K. Michelle have in common?

Mila Thomas.

Thomas, a beauty guru and style expert with over 15 years of experience under her belt, is who the stars trust when it comes to their make-up and beauty regimens. Most recently, Thomas is spearheading the looks on VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop: Hollywood seasons one and two. She was also the Glam Coordinator on the show’s first season, where she created the program’s signature “Young Hollywood Glam” look.

In light of Women’s History Month, New You caught up with Thomas as she took time out of her insanely busy schedule to give our readers some beauty tips that are sure to optimize your beauty routine.

“Make sure to take time for yourself,” Thomas said. “Take time to pamper yourself.”  If Thomas can do it, then so can you! The North Carolina native says making time for relaxation and pampering is crucial to any beauty routine. Your skin, just like your mind, needs a break from time-to-time. She also recommends taking advantage of “beauty specials such as massages and facial packages on websites such as LivingSocial, and Groupon” that are affordable enough for all women.

“Have a balanced diet,” she added. Thomas has been featured on shows such as CBS’ The Couch, Essence.com, Style Blazer, and Latino magazine for a reason! She knows what she is talking about. What you consume directly reflects on your hair, face, and skin.

MAC’s Oil Free Foundation is my favorite,” says the make-up artist. Thomas adds that this product is great for women of all skin-types since “it’s very matte.” She also loves the Black Opal Foundation, which she recommends for women of color, as well as Asian women and women of mixed race.

As far as a concealer, she recommends going with MAC’s Pro Longwear product because “it doesn’t crease.”

One of the hottest and sexiest beauty trends now are fake lashes, which is a trend that Thomas says can easily glam up any woman’s look instantly. “I love lashes!” Thomas said. “Lashes are everything today! It is a very easy way to make yourself feel pretty really fast.”

Not sure which lashes to purchase? Thomas says she really likes the lashes from Australian brand Egyptian Queen Beauty because “they are very luxurious and “will last longer.”
