It’s National Barefoot Day – Kick Off Your Shoes
Posted On Jun 01, 2016
Go Barefoot Day is observed on June 1st. This national holiday is an opportunity to kick off your shoes and run wild barefoot – because wearing heels and even sneakers can sometimes suck. And the only true remedy is foot freedom.
But before you kick off your kicks and give the boot to footwear, be sure that your toes are tidy.
Celebrity pedicurist, Gloria Williams, collaborated with Soles4Souls to celebrate National Go Bare Foot Day by raising awareness of the devastating impact global impoverishment has on millions of children and adults.
Soles4Souls is a not for profit global social enterprise committed to wearing out poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing. Since 2006, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed 26 million pairs of shoes to those in need in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S.
Today, Gloria is at her Beverly Hills salon collecting footwear for Soles4Souls just before she heads north to give Oprah Winfrey a legendary pedicure.
“With summer fast approaching, there is no better time than now to prepare to bare your feet,” says Williams, who coincidentally shares her birthday on National Go Barefoot Day.
“For more than 20 years, promoting the health of feet has been my mission. The creation of my Footnanny Foot Cream has given relief to tens of thousands of dry, cracked feet.”
Aside from Oprah, Gloria’s Footnanny Foot Cream has been on the indulgence list of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. The lineup includes the First Lady Michelle Obama, Julia Roberts, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, and the like.
Kicking off your shoes along with these stars create opportunity for the many in need. Don’t throw away a good opportunity – donate to Soles4Souls.
