New You Beauty Tip: Don’t treat wet, oily skin with drying alcohol. We have a natural recipe to treat your skin with the  proper balance of dryness and moisture.

You know you have oily skin when you haven’t moved from the desk in eight hours, yet your coworker asks if you just returned from a 5K. Your tired of it, but when searching for the antidote to oily, you think dry right? And what is the driest product you could slather on your skin? Alcohol. Eureka, right? Wrong. Turns out that the more you strip your skin of its oil, the harder your glands work to create even more! According to Dermoligca, a world wide skin care company, those who self treat based on the alcohol myth, “often end up with dehydrated, irritated, sensitized skin.” Similar to alcohol, other drying agents like the sun will do the same to activate your glands. Ah the bitter irony. But don’t give up. Add vitamin B2 to your list of supplements for skin health and at try this at-home concoction every other day until your coworker keeps quiet.

Oatmeal Paste:
Mix together plain oatmeal (oil absorber), lemon juice and olive oil (yes oil!) Add one whipped egg white and a touch of skin milk to create the perfect consistenecy. Leave for 20 minutes and gently rinse with warm water.
