Rough Around the Edges

NEW YOU Beauty Tip: Use an orange scrub to soften up your skin’s unsightly rough edges.

We often neglect our elbows, knees and heels when engaging in our normal skin care routines. These forgotten parts can become dry, rough and even darkened as a result. To make matters worse, elbows and heels are naturally covered by thicker skin, which makes them easily susceptible to moisture loss that is followed by a darkened appearance.

To rid your body of these unsightly rough spots, try this homemade scrub:

Cut a fresh orange in half and squeeze the juice of one half into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup olive oil and then blend into a moisture-rich scrub. Next, rub the exposed side of the other half of the orange over knees, elbows, heels, and any other dry spots you may run into along the way. Lastly, rub the sugar into the mixture to slough off dead skin. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry.
