The Search for that Glow

As a Caribbean native, I was lucky to have the beach nearby at any given time and took advantage of its powerful rays to maintain a very dark complexion.  Today, I am more conscious of the dangers of sun exposure—I have been on the search to maintain that constant sun kissed look for my medium colored skin.

Enter Merle Norman’s self-tanning bronzing Foam. Most of my coworkers laughed at the thought of me doing a self-tanner because of my natural skin color, but I was determined to achieve that J-lo inspired glow.

The instructions recommended I shower first, then dry my skin thoroughly before applying the foam. This was my first time using a self-tanner, so I asked around before experimenting. I found out that the cardinal rule to follow was never leave a spot untouched. (Note:  For applying on your back, you will need assistance).

The smell was not harsh, the tanner did not react negatively to my skin, and the drying time was only 5 minutes. The following day after applying the self-tanner to my body, my co-workers did notice my tan, but said I missed a few spots. Whoops!

That day when I went home, I reapplied to the discolored areas and the reapplication worked well. By the second day I was pleased with the results. All in all, the application was easy, but I am still on the lookout for the perfect glow!
