Single Scene:Where to Find the Man of Your Dreams
Posted On Jan 07, 2016
If you’ve been single for awhile, chances are it’s about time to dust off your heels and start searching for your ideal man [not literally but figuratively speaking]. Although you should never actually look for love it doesn’t hurt to be in the right place at the right time, with an open eye. I hope you’re following my drift (wink, wink). Whether you’ve moved to a new city, don’t have the time to go out and about or not quite ready to dust yourself off, after that last guy who left you broken hearted [again] (trust me, I get it because we’ve all been there), allow me to introduce a few places or ways to meet your dream man.
Granted he doesn’t have to become your hubby but just someone who is ready to rock your world in more ways than one. By complimenting you, taking you out for intimate dinner dates, a night out on the town or serving as a listening ear when you’re having a good or bad day.
The dating scene can be a bit tricky but love can definitely happen when you least expect it but only if your heart is open and ready to receive it. Contrary to popular belief finding your eligible bachelor while clubbin’ only works for 7 percent of the singledoms, according to a study by Match.com. Of course, being set-up by mutual friends is always great in a perfect world but if all else fails here are a few more options to help you find “love in a hopeless place.”
Home Depot: Or any hardware store for that matter! When you enter a household or appliance store mostly all of the customers are men not including the majority of the sales staff. Naturally upon entering, who are you more than likely to gravitate towards in order to ask a burning question that distinguishes the difference between this tool or that tool. If you see a hottie, it’s definitely the perfect opportunity to spark up a convo, you never know he could possibly ask you out for lunch to further ignite the conversation.
Online: In this day and age, online dating is probably the most popular route many people tend to take. With this dating method, the old saying, “there’s plenty of fish in the sea,” rings true because it is the perfect opportunity to pick and choose from a sea of men! Who knows, you could possibly be a soul swipe away from finding your mate but proceed with caution because you definitely want to avoid being catfished.
Parks: Take a stroll through the park (during the day of course) and you will be surprised at the legions of men you’ll come across. Whether they are taking a quick lunch break, getting some fresh air, working on their laptops, walking their dogs or reading a good book, if you spot a good lookin’ one, take a seat next to them and get the conversation started!
Community Service: Not only are you giving back to your community but quite possibly meeting someone worthwhile who is volunteering too. Volunteering is an unselfish deed that can go along way, perhaps karma will be good to you and reward you with a great boo.
Tech Store: Talk about being a man magnet! Do you know a male who isn’t interested in being up-to-date on the latest technology? Even if they are just browsing through, trust me these are one of the best places to meet, mix and mingle with a potential beau.
Museums: Next time, you are in a new city or country try visiting one of the local art exhibits. Chances are there are other potential mates, traveling near and far to take in the sites similar to you. Being surrounded by the authentic artistic compositions is a source for great conversational pieces.
Bookstore: This is a no brainer if you’re an avid reader. Seeing someone who takes an interest in a variety of subject matters is a winner in my opinion! Not to mention, if you are both cruising down the same aisle it could very well be a match made in bookworm heaven or just a coincidence (Hmmmmm….things that make you wonder). It’s also a great place to chat it up because it’s the perfect space filled with tables, chairs and couches that are extremely comfy. If all the seats are taken, sitting on the floor in a cozy aisle while getting to know your honey, is also an option.
These are just a few of my top picks when you are ready to possibly meet the man of your dreams. A couple more suggestions are networking events, happy hours, golf courses and wine tastings. If you have more places in mind, of where to find a handsome fellow, don’t’ keep us guessing, please share. Spread the word in the comments below!
