Stimulate Your Locks

NEW YOU Beauty Tip: Be sure to spend enough time brushing for healthy, shiny, growing hair.

We usually brush our hair once in the morning for detangling purposes and perhaps a few times throughout the day for touch ups, but that’s not enough! Regular hair brushing (albeit obsessively) is key for shiny locks, dirt removal, and increased blood circulation. Brushing appropriately activates your hair’s oil glands and maintains the perfect balance, leading to a shiny look and healthier feel. Combing can also promote hair growth by removing stuck-on chemicals and allowing hormone secretion. How much is enough? A 3-5 minute session or 100 strokes per day will increase blood circulation and keep that oh-so-important scalp “fertilized.” For optimal results, lean over first to stimulate blood flow and use a natural bristle brush. If you’re hair is weak and brittle, avoid brushing too much, and switch to massaging your scalp with your fingertips.
