STARRING By Ted Gibson launches its first hairstyling product this week, SHOOTING STAR TEXTURE MERENGUE, which will retail for $52. After testing it on his A-list celebrity clients and pouring years of first-hand research into the brand, Gibson is exhilarated to see this product come to life.
Gibson and his business partner husband, Jason Backe, recently closed down their successful New York salon to head to the west coast. Inspired by the old Hollywood charm and Los Angeles vibes, Gibson says STARRING is an ode to the magic of the movies. “I’m a lover of cinema, fashion and all things beauty. I love to create iconic images with hair. With this collection, I wanted to create a line of styling products that would become a staple in both the hairdresser and the consumer’s arsenal of tools,” he says. Gibson’s exquisite hairstyling has appeared on everything from television shows like What Not to Wear, to the pages of Vogue and Vanity Fair, to the runways of Chanel and Prada.
SHOOTING STAR TEXTURE MERENGUE has a signature scent with hints of fig. Gibson showcased this new product when styling the hair of Rachel Brosnahan for her red-carpet look at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards.
