Top Facials You Can’t Pass Up

The key to great makeup? Great skin. The key to great skin? Great facials.

The problem is, with so many facials to choose from, it can be quite a challenge figuring out what works best for you. The key to selecting the right facial is knowing your skin type. Each skin type is different and can fluctuate, which means that your facials should be selected based on the issues your skin may be facing at the moment.

While most of us are accustomed to the basic facial process of your skin being cleansed, exfoliated, and extracted of impurities, there are a few facials that undergo a different process with even better results.

We’ve rounded up the top three trending facials that have been proven to be effective by celebrities, dermatologists, and clients alike.

  • Vampire Facial

Yes, it’s as scary as it sounds. When Kim Kardashian showed her experience of getting a Vampire Facial, everyone became instantly intrigued by the procedure. The Dermapen facial which was dubbed Vampire facial involves extracting the patients’ blood from their arm and then injecting that same blood back into the face after creating platelet-rich plasma through a processing machine.

I know you’re thinking why anyone would even want to attempt this, but after hearing the benefits, I totally joined the bandwagon.  After re-injecting the blood into the skin, it erases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles causing you to have a more youthful look. The recommended dosage is at least three sessions, and the average total cost is $1,200.

  • Oxygen Facial

Oxygen facials have been done on our favorite stars in Sex and the City and Madonna, and to be honest, that’s the only reason I need to try it out! The oxygen facial was introduced in 2002 and involves using pressurized oxygen to deliver a specialized serum to the skin.

The procedure lasts anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes and ranges in price from $300 to $500. The process consists of an airbrush wand that releases 90% to 95% oxygen and gives off a calming and cooling effect. Patients have reported healthier and glowing skin as well as the reduction of acne and wrinkles. As opposed to many other facial procedures, oxygen facials are very gentle on the skin and has little to no painful side effects.

  • Microdermabrasion Facial

If you’re the kind of person who wants results fast, then microdermabrasion is for you. Unlike the vampire facial, microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that is quick and painless. It’s a known fact that the fastest way to get youthful and healthy skin is removing the excess layers of dead skin. The procedure involves a stream of micro-particles through a vacuum that acts as an exfoliator.

The average cost of the procedure is between $75 and $200 per session. The benefits include acne treatment, youthful looking skin, even complexion, and an overall better skin appearance.

Which facial would you try?
