Yummy Foods for Your Split Ends

Split ends, the two words beauty enthusiasts would hate to see, say, or hear.  Cutting them is the most effective way to get rid of them, but when we’re trying to grow long luxurious hair, that is out of the question. Many of us are familiar with essentials oils, such as olive, coconut, argon, and castor, which cure just about any hair care problem ever. However, if these miracle oils are not found at home, save yourself a trip and try any of these home remedies that are probably sitting in your cabinets (or fridge) right now!

Eggs

So apparently, eggs don’t just taste good. They’re enriched with protein that does more than help your diet. Treat your split ends, strengthen your hair follicles, and reduce tangles with a mixture of an egg yolk, two teaspoons of olive oil, and a teaspoon of honey. Work mixture while hair is damp, let it sit for 30 minutes, rinse, and shampoo.

Honey

Get a gorgeous sheen with a teaspoon of honey mixed in a half cup of curd. Massage the mixture into your hair working your way down to the ends. Let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse with water.

Avocado

A mixture of one ripe avocado and two teaspoons each of olive and coconut oils will nourish your hair with protein, fatty acids, vitamins A, D, and E, and many other nutrients. Leave the mask in your hair for 30 minutes and rinse off. Wash completely out with shampoo.

Bananas

Don’t just eat your bananas! Use them to help restore your hair’s elasticity, moisturize hair, improve manageability, and minimize breakage. Apply a hair mask containing one ripe banana, two tablespoons of yogurt, and a teaspoon of lemon juice to provide your hair with natural oils and vitamins A, C, and E. Let it sit an hour, rinse out, and wash.

Mayonnaise

Not everyone likes this option because it leaves your hair smelly for a few days, but mayonnaise is a great remedy for damaged hair. Leave a one-half cup of mayo in your hair for about 20 minutes to prevent split ends and gain a soft, shiny finish after wash.

Beer

When buying this ingredient, you might have to explain to friends and family that it’s not what it looks like. Beer actually has protein and sugar that help control split ends and damaged hair follicles. Treat it as a conditioner after shampooing your hair, letting it sit for two to three minutes. Do not rinse out.

Eat More Fats

Your daily diet can provide hair treatment. Try incorporating healthy fats such as chia seeds, almonds, cashews, and hemp seeds into your diet to help moisturize and prevent split ends.
