Cindy Crawford Speaks Out About Retirement Rumors
Posted On Feb 01, 2016
Supermodel of all of the supermodels, Cindy Crawford has announced that she plans to retire when she turns 50, which is this February.
She was quoted in United’s in-flight magazine, Rhapsody saying, “I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”
Crawford took to Instagram today to reply to the rumors. Crawford said, “Every year, I tell my kids I’m retiring. “It’s a running joke in our family. And yet every year, opportunities pop up that really excite me. While it’s true that I’m eager to shift my focus a bit to concentrate on my businesses, friends and family- I’m not making any final statements (not all headlines tell the whole story!)”
Crawford was featured on her first cover of Vogue in 1986. She has appeared in iconic campaigns for Versace, Pepsi, Revlon and more. In 1995, she was named the highest-earning model in the world by Forbes. She’s since been on the covers of Vogue, Maxim, GQ, Elle, Harper’s Bazar, and People. She’s been in TV shows, movies and workout tapes, launched a furniture line and has co-written a book. She is married to actor Richard Gere and has two children. What a beautiful life she has created for herself. If she chooses to stay away from the cameras I don’t blame her but just as Bieber once said, never say never.
