Drew Barrymore To Divorce Will Kopelman

Drew Barrymore has split from her husband of three years and the father of her two children, Will Kopelman. Representatives for the actress and the art consultant confirmed that the couple has separated and plans to divorce.
In an exclusive statement to People, the two said, “Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family. Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.”
It’s the third failed marriage for Drew, who was previously wed to bartender Jeremy Thomas and actor Tom Green. Drew and Will reportedly will share custody of their two daughters, three-year-old Olive and 23-month-old Frankie.
They are said to be already taking the next steps in their separation proceedings, including determining where their children will live. Their opposing positions on their family’s place of permanent residence was reportedly a factor in the decision to divorce since Drew gravitated to Los Angeles, while Will wanted to stay in New York where Olive attends pre-school.
A famous former wild child who did several stints in rehab, Drew seemed to have found stability in her relationship with Will. She told InStyle, “It was never really love at first sight. Will struck a lot of my pragmatic sides. He was someone who was always reachable on the phone, someone who was a classy human being, someone who has this incredible blueprint of a family that I don’t have.”
While we are very sad at the news of the couple’s separation, we hope that their split remains amicable and that they can work together to be a source of support for Olive and Frankie.
