2016 is off to a good start for Ellen DeGeneres. The 57 year old has been named as the recipient for the People’s Choice Humanitarian Award. She named St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to receive $200,000 from Walgreens. Ellen won the honor in recognition of her tireless efforts to help communities in need and bring awareness to organizations and charities that are making a difference in people’s lives. Of course Ellen took the win in style, even joking about the award. She said she’s so honored to receive the award because it sums her up perfectly because she’s both a human and an itarian. Past winners include Ben Affleck in 2015, Jennifer Hudson in 2014, and Sandra Bullock in 2013. In addition to this award, The Ellen DeGeneres show has been renewed through 2020. Congrats Ellen!
