I Wish Obama Was My Dad
Posted On Apr 08, 2016
Obama’s relationship with his daughters, from what we see in the media, can definitely make a woman with daddy issues pretty envious. Some of us would’ve loved to go to a father-daughter dance but imagine attending one with Obama. I would dream of jetting off to a couple of father-daughter dances, just because we probably could, and showing off his tango dance moves.
We would’ve loved creating those cute moments with our fathers, but imagine changing the world with your father. Obama and his daughter, Malia, are able to create unique father-daughter moments attending fundraisers that literally can change the country’s dynamics.
On Thursday, they attended a $15,000-$66,800 (per couple) fundraiser located at the home of Walt Disney Studios in Los Angeles. The purpose was to raise money for Democrats to win back Republican seats in Congress. Obama felt that a working American democracy is what’s at stake in November’s elections. The two were accompanied by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall, Katie McGrath and J.J. Abrams, Lyn and Norman Lear, and Barbra Streisand and James Brolin. How many daughters can say they went to a fundraiser with their dad to raise money for a change in Congress? And then imagine all the networking that can be done at a young age!
Prior to the fundraiser, Malia was able to create more moments in her hometown of Chicago. They spent the day there, and Malia witnessed her father speak at The University of Chicago Law School. Malia and Obama’s father-daughter relationship looks so seamless, so beautiful. This society needs more of that.
