Kendall and Kylie Jenner Tease Long-Awaited Mobile Game
Posted On Feb 13, 2016
Better whip your smartphones out: Kendall and Kylie Jenner are finally getting their game on! Almost a year after the celebrity sisters announced they were launching a mobile video game app, Kendall and Kylie took to Twitter on Feb. 12 to assure fans that they were making good on their promise. While no release date has been announced, the young reality TV stars and models posted the first official image from the Kendall + Kylie game, featuring their avatars with the caption “Coming soon…#KendallKyliegame.”
Following in the footsteps of their older sister Kim, Kendall and Kylie teamed up with global gaming company Glu Mobile to create their own free-to-play mobile game. Glu Mobile, which boasts an impressive roster of celebrity collaborations with the likes of Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift, explained in a March 2015 press release that the game enables users to “interact with the sisters as friends and mentors as they work to realize their creative and career aspirations.”
As with Kim’s wildly successful Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game, Kendall and Kylie’s animated mobile app characters will use their voices, likenesses and creative influences. The sisters had input during the development of the game in order for their avatars to accurately reflect their individual personalities. Kendall + Kylie has already had a soft launch in Canada (lucky Canadians!) and will be available on iOS and Android.
Big sister Kim set the bar pretty high with her hit 2014 game, which raked in millions of dollars with staggering download numbers. Can Kendall and Kylie, social media masters in their own right with 72 million followers between them, match or surpass her success? After all, what’s a little friendly rivalry between family members?
All we know is that it will soon become even easier to keep up with the Kardashians –– or rather, the Jenners!
