Who Wore What at Cannes Week One
Posted On May 16, 2016
This past week marked the beginning of the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival in France. Stars, starlets, film producers, and artists- anybody who is anyone in the film world- made their way to the French Rivera to walk the famous Croisette red carpet. Here are the best looks!
Blake Lively may be this year’s Cannes fashion queen. Her many looks are dominating the headlines and our hearts. She channels Cinderella on Friday night in a poofy, ruffled light blue Vivienne Westwood Couture gown and then she showed off her newly formed baby bump in a curve-hugging Atelier Versace dress that gives us major Queen Elsa vibes. She is true royalty.
This was the timeless beauty, Julia Robert’s first time at the film festival. She wore a black Armani Prive gown that gave us utter classic Hollywood. She also opted for no shoes as she walked down the red carpet.
Jessica Chastain stunned in her canary yellow Armani dress on Day one and then showed that up with her Alexander McQueen jeweled gown at the premiere of Money Monster.
Kristen Stewart’s looks have been on point at Cannes- probably because she is wearing all Chanel, as she is the designated Chanel girl. She showed up in a white leather crop top and a crotched midi skirt. She wore an absolutely breathtaking at the Café Society premiere in a sheer long sleeve blouse with a netted sheer skirt with a light green pattern.
Kendall Jenner showed to be the most culture-fied of the Kardashians as she was the only sister to go to Cannes. She wore a beautiful sheer Roberto Cavalli couture dress with black and gold swirling accents. At least it’s not Balmain!
Marion Cotillard also shined bright in her golden Dior gown. Her deep red lip, slicked back hair, and pattern-less dress made for a simply elegant look.
Kristen Dunst looked like a Cannes regular in her effortlessly perfect dresses. On Day one she showed up in a dress that is epitome of Cannes, a lemon yellow straight-out-of-the-50’s sundress. To the opening of Café Society, she wore a pink sheer Gucci dress with a red floral pattern. Absolutely gorgeous.
And we can’t forget our mouth-watering men! There’s just something about a man in a tux that gets our hearts pounding. George Clooney and Justin Timberlake went for the classic black tux, black bow-tie combo with the best accessory, a beautiful woman on their arms. And then there’s heart-throb Ryan Gosling, who opted for the white and blue tux combo. Swooning!
We can’t wait to see what other looks we are in store for during the second week of Cannes.
